FirstCall Residential was created for busy professionals, empty-nesters with better things to do, and generally, people who prefer to delegate the responsibility of home maintenance to someone else and not have to worry about it.

Through a customized maintenance plan, your choice of additional a-la-carte services, and optional 24/7 emergency availability, FirstCall Residential becomes the steward of your home, providing necessary maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and improvements so you can free your mind of such concerns. We can also seamlessly provide design and renovation services through our parent company, Out of the Woods Construction & Cabinetry, a design/build remodeling company.

We spare you the stress of finding a competent and trustworthy service provider, the anxiety about who exactly will be in your home, and those nagging concerns over whether you should be calling someone for some sort of property maintenance of which you may be unaware. Should I call someone to service my comfort system every year? When was the last time the septic tank was pumped? I wonder what the winter weather did to my property?

More often than not, the answers to these questions come long after an “ounce of prevention” has become an expensive “pound of cure” or when a prospective buyer's home inspector submits an extensive list of issues that need to be addressed. You can count on us to perform regular inspections and maintenance, over-time getting and keeping your home in top shape, making those “surprises” fewer and farther between.

FirstCall Residential will take care of all your home's maintenance and repair needs in the most stress-free way possible. Our home care system is designed to be comprehensive, efficient, and accessible. We become stewards of your home, not just episodic responders. Important aspects of our system include:

Initial Assessment and Pricing

A FirstCall Residential representative will visit you in your home to answer any questions and make an Initial Assessment. For pricing purposes, we will collect basic data on your house (typically the kind of information that's on a real estate agent's listing sheet), plus a few more details.

Annual Agreement

Based on your needs and the data collected at the Initial Assessment, a fixed-price Annual Maintenance Agreement will be provided, detailing your customized maintenance plan and annual/monthly fees. Welcome aboard! You can promptly forget about home maintenance — we’re on it, and you’ve got better things to do! From this point forward, all you have to do is live there!

Kick-Off Inventory and Inspection

One of our representatives and a small team of tradespeople will inspect and take inventory of your home. Depending upon your service package, this group will look at everything from your heating system and dishwasher to conducting an initial pest inspection and energy audit. Once this stage of the process is completed, we will know your home's features and needs thoroughly. This step is typically followed by a comprehensive prioritized list of recommended repairs and improvements, with the corresponding pricing, that your home might need beyond basic maintenance.

Seasonal and/or Scheduled Services

All services that are performed under the Annual Contract will be scheduled on your FirstCall Residential accounts calendar. We'll send email notifications to you in advance of each visit including the exact work to be done and who, specifically, will be performing the work.

Weekly or Monthly Check-In

While your home is vacant, you can have one of our representatives visit it on a regular basis (for example, during extended absences) to ensure that all is well. If you anticipate a vacancy like this ahead of time, this service can be included in the Annual Contract.

 How We Do It

Additional Services

  • Requests for additional services (those not included in the Annual Maintenance Agreement) can be made online, or by phone, text, or email, whichever works best for you.

  • Proposals and work authorizations are managed online.

  • To expedite home care, the homeowner can opt to set a threshold cost, below which FirstCall Residential is authorized to proceed with necessary work without additional approval.

  • 24/7 On-Call Emergency Response

  • The 24/7 feature includes the addition of FirstCall Residential to your alarm company's call list.

Billing and Records

  • FirstCall Residential is fully compliant with the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act.

  • Our third-party payment processor stores all credit card information.

  • Billing for the Annual Contract is broken into 12 monthly payments; credit card payments for these installments are processed at the beginning of each month.

  • For services outside of the annual contract, paperless invoicing is handled by email.

  • Home improvement and maintenance records, expense reports, the health history of the residence, etc., are available to you, as well as to your agent, accountant, business manager, and whomever you authorize.
